Grace Bradley (Loretta Swit) is unwittingly put in charge of the church's Christmas pageant when the original woman in charge breaks her leg. She doesn't need yet another thing to do this holiday season, but she knows what needs to happen in order to run a play, so she takes on the challenge. The job turns out to be more of a challenge than she first thought: all six of the worst-behaved kids in school- the Herdmans- decide they want to be in the Christmas pageant, and chaos ensues. Can Grace pull everyone together and stop the pageant from disaster?
